The Challenge
Family moving from Old Town to a single-family home in Mantua. Main Street curb space required a City of Fairfax temporary parking permit 48 hours ahead. The shared brick stoop with the neighbor needed careful staging to avoid scuffing original brick. Family had an inherited 1890s pump organ that would not clear the narrow front door.
How we handled it
Filed the temporary parking permit with the City of Fairfax three days ahead. Scheduled the move for Tuesday morning to avoid Main Street weekend retail traffic. Padded the shared brick stoop with rug runners and brought a four-person crew. Disassembled the pump organ at the casework joints and crated it for transport. Five-hour move, no damage to the original Federal-style brick or the new Mantua home's hardwood floors.

Premium coverage that pays repair, replacement, or current market value of any damaged or lost item. We recommend it for moves with antique furniture, original artwork, china cabinets, grand pianos, or anything irreplaceable. Cost depends on declared value of your shipment and is itemized on the binding quote, never tacked on later.
If something does get damaged
Notify us within 24 hours of delivery. Our office reviews the claim within one business day, sends a written acknowledgment, and resolves repair, replacement, or settlement within 30 days.
